Who is this learning platform for?
This platform was created for international healthcare professionals and learners outside of CHOP. The content you’ll find in CHOP OPEN are geared towards medical students, advanced practice providers and physicians of all career levels. The courses may be used to learn about new techniques for providing care, or even to provide a refresher on a given topic.
Where do the courses come from?
The courses and content you find on CHOP OPEN are delivered by CHOP faculty and practitioners. Some content was recorded at CHOP’s Philadelphia campus, while other content was provided by CHOP physicians in other parts of the world.
CHOP partners with the American Austrian Foundation (AAF) and the Open Medical Institute (OMI) to deliver 8 seminars a year in Salzburg, Austria. The courses presented at the seminars are recorded and uploaded to CHOP OPEN. To find out more about the AAF and OMI, visit www.aaf-online.org.
Do you offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits?
We currently do not offer Category I CME but physicians can self-claim Category II credit commensurate with the time they spent on the learning modules. If you would like to register for upcoming CME activities held through our CME Department, please visit the CME Portal here.
How up-to-date are the courses?
As new courses are presented at teaching conferences organized by CHOP, the content is recorded and posted on CHOP OPEN. Any existing topics will be replaced by the most recent content. Every few years, certain topics are redelivered with updated information to ensure that the materials present revised statistics and information.
I'm looking for a course that is no longer available on CHOP OPEN. Where did it go?
We’re committed to refreshing our course content every 3 years or less, based on new science and up-to-date medical information. If you have a pressing need for content that is no longer on our platform, please reach out to us at email@example.com
