At the end of this session, learners will be able to understand why teaching procedures are important, apply adult learning principles and the principle of scaffolding to the teaching of procedures, recognize the phases of learning and teaching a motor skill, discuss barriers to teaching procedures in a clinical setting, summarize ways to overcome those barriers, and discuss the assessment of procedural competency.
This seminar focuses on medical education and was delivered at the Open Medical Institute in Salzburg, Austria, from February 4 – 10, 2018.
