Christopher Golden, MD, FAAP is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed medical school, pediatrics residency (Harriet Lane), neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship and twenty-one years on faculty in the Eudowood Neonatal Pulmonary Division (Division of Neonatology) at Hopkins. He is a pediatric medical educator and is Director of the Pediatrics Core Clerkship at Johns Hopkins. Nationally, he is a member of the Executive Council of the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) and is a co-facilitator of the Peer Review of Manuscripts Course in the Academic Pediatric Association’s Educational Scholars Program. Additionally, he and eight other physicians from medical schools across the United States have developed a workshop on addressing microaggressions in medicine and medical education that has been presented nationally and internationally to medical learner and educators. Clinically, Dr. Golden practices in the NICUs at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and serves as Medical Director of the Johns Hopkins Newborn Nursery and the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program. His clinical research interests include congenital and neonatal infections, newborn bilirubin metabolism, and improving care of healthy babies. Dr. Golden has co-authored multiple articles on topics in neonatology and medical education in peer-reviewed journals such as Pediatrics, Academic Medicine, The Journal of Perinatology, JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, The Journal of Infectious Diseases, and the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Contemporary Pediatrics and currently serves as the Chair-Elect of the Pediatric Section of the National Medical Association (NMA).
